Contract IT Administrator (Contractor, 40 hours per month)

Job Description

Who You Are:

As an IT Administrator at AEQ, you will play a crucial role in supporting our fully remote workforce. You will be responsible for the technical support of our team members throughout their employment lifecycle- from onboarding new hires, maintaining and troubleshooting for current employees, to managing the offboarding process. Your goal will be to ensure the high availability and performance of our IT infrastructure, providing a seamless and secure computing environment for all AEQers.

What Your Responsibilities include:

  • Deliver remote technical support and resolve IT issues for team members, encompassing setup, maintenance, and offboarding processes.
  • Execute project tasks within designated timelines, providing comprehensive updates and documentation.
  • Optimize the performance and availability of infrastructure, including network and server environments.
  • Utilize and manage IT service management tools for ticketing, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Conduct hardware set-ups, updates, and configurations, particularly for laptops and VR Oculus devices.
  • Employ configuration management tools to track and control changes in the IT environment.
  • Troubleshooting network issues and hardware malfunctions, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Administer and support cloud-based infrastructure services on platforms such as Azure and Google Cloud.
  • Manage application updates and oversee the deployment of software patches.
  • Address server/client vulnerabilities and perform regular OT patching to maintain security
  • Monitor the network activity to identify and mitigate potential threats, including phishing and other fraudulent activities.
  • Educate staff on security best practices and the recognition of phishing attempts.
  • Document IT configurations, including system diagrams, IP address allocations, inventory lists, and procedural guidelines.
  • Develop scripts and code to streamline and automate IT processes.
  • Manage accounts and configurations for corporate tools like Google Suite, Slack, Jira, GetOutline, Hubspot, and Microsoft services, ensuring efficient and effective usage.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience as an IT administrator or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of computer systems, networks, and cloud services.
  • Experience with infrastructure monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with system and network security challenges and resolutions.
  • Knowledge of current best practices in IT administration and system security.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a remote team and educate non-technical users.
  • Experience in managing a range of software tools and cloud platforms.

 

Education:

  • A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
  • Relevant certifications (eg… CompTIA, Microsoft Certified IT Professional) are desirable.

 

Location

  • This position will be 100% Remote but requires traveling ad-hoc to pick up and drop off equipment.
