Full-Time Data Scientist – Tech Lead

Job Description

JOB SUMMARY
To design and deploy machine learning solutions modeling complex problems, discovering insights, and identifying opportunities through the use of statistical, algorithmic, mining, and visualization techniques, while running multiple, simultaneous data science efforts of significant size and complexity. Solutions will be optimized for the real estate market to enhance portfolio optimization, predict asset reliability, and tackle a range of innovative challenges.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyze Data: Examine large data sets to identify trends, patterns, and insights within the real estate domain.
Model Development: Design, build, and implement predictive, prescriptive, and descriptive machine learning models.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers and business stakeholders, to align on objectives and ensure successful implementation.
Technical Leadership: Guide junior data scientists, ensuring best practices in model development and data analysis.
Problem Solving: Address complex business problems and provide actionable insights using advanced analytics techniques.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on emerging tools and techniques in data science and machine learning. Apply new methods where relevant to improve model performance and accuracy.
Presentation Skills: Communicate complex findings and insights in a clear and structured manner to non-technical stakeholders.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. Provides informal assistance such as technical guidance, code review, and/or training to coworkers. May supervise assignments of lower-level employees.
QUALIFICATIONS

Technical Proficiency: Proficient in data science algorithms including decision trees, probability networks, association rules, clustering, regression, and neural networks. Knowledge of NLP, text analytics, shell scripting and experience coding in Python, R, Java or similar languages. Expertise with popular data science libraries such as TensorFlow, scikit-learn, and pandas Knowledge of data modeling, relational database tools, data warehousing, database architecture, SQL, SAS and/or SPSS.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a data science role, with a proven track record of deploying machine learning models in real-world settings.

Deep understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and data analytics techniques.
SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY
Decisions made with understanding of procedures and company policies to achieve set results and deadlines. Responsible for setting own project deadlines with the understanding that errors in judgment may cause short-term impact to co-workers and supervisor.
