The Senior Systems Analyst, Technology Controls will report to the Senior Manager IT Risk, aligned to the Information Technology Risk function in the organization.

The successful candidate will leverage their knowledge of IGM Financial, the financial services industry and Technology Risk and Controls frameworks to actively partner with people across the organization to continuously assess and identify risk, while collaborating on ways to reduce the risk.

 

This hybrid role (based in Toronto or Winnipeg) requires an organized individual who can provide a coordination and supporting role with the IT Risk team and IGM business leaders to help further the IT Risk mandate and mature the program.

What you will be doing:

As an Snr Systems Analyst, Technology Controls, you’ll work as part of a team of talented risk professionals, helping to provide business and technology teams with solutions to minimize risk. Responsibilities include:

  • Support risk management services, including assessment of technology risks and related information technology general controls
  • Support and carry out measurement and reviews of controls that affect the Company’s “Top Risks”
  • Document clear and concise evidence that is collected through the testing and validation of controls
  • Conduct and support the analysis of control deficiencies that were found during the assessment to help sponsors understand ways to limit risk and reduce overall impact
  • Create and support the development of reports and presentations to highlight the state of controls to Strategic Leadership
  • Establish and maintain collaborative relationships internally with IGM Financials technology and business teams
  • Support Leaders in the planning of assessments based on IGM Financials’ risk matrix
  • Working with existing processes/systems whilst making constructive suggestions for improvements

Experiences and skills you’ll use to solve

  • Knowledge of technology, IT practices and standards, infrastructure-related risks, and controls
  • Experience documenting processes, risks, and controls
  • Experience executing testing programs, assessing control design, and operating effectiveness, and to provide recommendations for improvements
  • Proven commitment to providing excellent customer service, by building and maintaining productive relationships with both Information Technology and Business teams
  • Knowledge of Technology controls frameworks and methodologies
  • Excellent versal and written communication skills
  • Foundational understanding of a Financial Services company is considered an asset
  • Ability to maintain high standard to deliver projects/assignments on time
  • Pursuing certifications in CISSP, PMP, CRISC, CISM or CISA, considered an asset
